Liaoning University is one of the first eight Chinese universities authorized by Chinese Ministry of Education which started admitting international students from 1965.In the past 5 decades it has educated more than 20,000 international students from over 94 countries and regions. It was awarded national “Excellent Institution for International Education” in 2014.Institute of International Education was renamed from International College for Chinese Language Studies since September 2013，previously known as International Student College. IIE is responsible for international students’ admission, academic affairs, routine administration and organizing Chinese international education. It consists of Office of Administration, Office of International Recruitment and Admission, Office of Student Administration and Service, Office of Teaching and Learning, HSK Test Center, Department of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, Department of International Business, Department of Chinese Language, and Department of Language Learning. IIE was designated as Chinese International Promotion Base (Northeast China) and Liaoning Provincial Demonstration Base for Foreign Language. It is also ranked in National Top Ten HSK Outstanding Test Centers. In 2015, the number of international students of Liaoning University reached 1,485，which ranked 3rd among all universities and colleges in Liaoning Province and 1st among Shenyang universities and colleges. Currently there are 34 faculty members in the institute, 23 of whom are full-time teachers who all have rich experiences of overseas teaching, and 11 of whom are administrative staffs. IIE invites well-known experts from domestic and abroad including America, Australia, Belgium, South Korea and Japan to be visiting professors and give lectures. IIE promotes the fusion of Chinese and international students by grasping dual main lines of education for international students and Chinese international education. IIE provides 2 English-taught undergraduate programs, 1 English-taught postgraduate programs, bachelor degree programs of Chinese and international economics and trade for international students. We also run undergraduate programs including Chinese International Education and MTCSOL（Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages）program for both Chinese and international students. International students of IIE has awarded runner-up honorable title in the Chinese Bridge Language Competition and won the championship in Liaoning Foreigner Chinese Language Competition as well as Liaoning Provincial Foreigner Essay Contest. IIE has established long and stable cooperative relationships with universities and research institutes of Russia, South Korea, Belgium, USA, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Mongolia, Senegal, etc.

Shenyang Aerospace University (SAU) is founded in 1952 and situated in Shenyang. During the past 60 years, Shenyang Aerospace University has developed into an academic center, housing teaching buildings, research laboratories, a library which is both an architectural and cultural icon, a theater building, sports arena, swimming center and student’s activity centers having 600,000 square meters of floor space and cover 200, 000 square meters of landscaped gardens. Other services such as the school hospital, comfortable accommodations and a number of dining halls are also provided.

The university has 1,600 staff, 900 of which are academic, and boasts an attendance of more than 20,000 students. While focusing on engineering disciplines, SAU’s scope has been enhanced with curricula covering such areas as science, management and liberal arts. The university has 44 disciplines for undergraduate study, 50 disciplines for master degrees, and joint programs for PhDs. SAU degrees are recognized around the world.
SAU prides itself on its practical teaching system which includes basic, professional and general practice. There are numerous first-rate labs for the students, some at national level.
SAU is also proud of its Aircraft Maintenance Center, which is the only one in China approved by the China Civil Aviation Authority to issue licenses to maintain helicopters. Authorization of fixed-wing aircraft maintenance licenses is anticipated soon. There are 30 aircrafts provided for the students to practice with on the campus.

SAU has established cooperation with many companies and institutes including the Shenyang Liming Aero-engine Group Corporation, the AVIC Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, and has developed a network of 50 partnerships to provide practical training opportunities both inside and outside the campus.
During its 60 years, about 90,000 students have graduated from the university, with numerous students achieving high honors. SAU graduates historically have had a very high employment rate with around 90% being employed soon after graduation.
Internationalization is one of the characteristics of SAU. The university has established cooperative agreements with 300 universities and companies from around the world. It has an active exchange program for both teachers and students.
The university employs a number of foreign teachers who contribute to both the academic and cultural life of the school community. At present, there are over 1222 international students from 71 countries studying Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Chinese Culture, etc,. School of International Exchange of Northeastern University is responsible for foreign student recruitment (including undergraduate students, master students and doctoral students), management, education and research of Chinese language. School of International Exchange has recruited foreign students since 1950s. There are over 40 faculty and administrative staff members. Over 4,000 students from more than 50 countries have been educated in our university for their degrees and cultural study. In recent years, with continuously enlarge number of foreign students and promotion of education level and quality, more and more foreign students have been recruited by our university. The proportion of degree students has also dramatically increased.

Through dozens of years’ development, School of International Exchange has accumulated rich experience in teaching content, method and management. It boasts a strong team of full time and part time faculty. It offers long and short term Chinese language classes meeting the demands of different levels of students (beginning, middle and high level). The School enrolls students from both Spring and Fall semesters. The School has many advantages for its high level teaching quality, such as small size classes, diversified language courses (e.g. Chinese intensive reading, listening, grammar, writing, reading, conversation, visual and audio classes, news Chinese, news listening and reading, economic and trade Chinese, science and technology Chinese, etc.), abundant Chinese cultural courses (e.g. survey of China, Chinese folk art, Taijiquan, martial art, etc.), colorful cultural experiencing activities (e.g. visiting Chinese families, museums, social investigation, travel, etc.), independent teaching buildings, 3 well-equipped dormitories, and strong cultural atmosphere in the surrounding areas. In 2007, School set up a Sino-South Korea Cultural Exchange Center with Kyungnam University. Since the establishment of degree program of Chinese language in 2010, the School has started to enroll foreign students in this program in 2011. The School has very high passing rate of HSK 6-8 exams and won several awards in Chinese speech contests organized by Liaoning Province and the country.

Shenyang Normal University was established in 1951, it is directly administered by the Shenyang provincial government. It is a multidisciplinary university with nine main areas of study, philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, pure science, engineering, management and art. Shenyang Normal University was originally funded as The Dongbei Normal University, in 1953, after The State Council’s examination and approval, it was reestablished as  Shenyang Normal University, at the time they were the one of the  earliest and most influential undergraduate normal schools in the northeast region. In 2002, The Education Bureau authorized the merger of Shenyang Normal college and Liaoning Education college into the comprehensive school—- Shenyang Normal University. It occupies 1888.69mu, areas covered with structures is 763600 square meters, and holds 1,8 million volumes. The university possesses 26 second tier colleges and 23 affiliated schools and organizations. It provides 74 bachelor degree courses. The school is also authorized to teach 18 main areas of postgraduate courses and 128 streams based on these courses, as well as the right to award 9 professional degrees. The 25000 students consist of undergraduates, junior college students, postgraduates and overseas students. This year, the school has accepted 1242 different levels of students from 62 countries throughout Asia, Europe, Africa, The Americas and Australasia. Our school also funds two Confucius Institutes in The Middle East—–The Confucius Institute at Saint-Joseph’s in Lebanon and The Jordanian  Amman-Tag Confucius Institute. The university has independent enrollment eligibility to accept scholarships from both the Chinese government and the Confucius institute. It is a base for training foreign aid personnel and Chinese education throughout Liaoning province. Shenyang is the capital city of Liaoning Province and is one of the largest cities of China. Shenyang is also the center of economy, culture, transportation and business activities in the northeastern part of China. Liaoning Communication University ( LNCU ) is approved by Liaoning Provincial Ministry of Education and Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China as well. LNCU covers an area of approximately 1,300 acres, and currently more than 8,000 students are enrolled in LNCU. LNCU is one of the six communication universities in China.
LNCU intends to cultivate sustainable talents for current and upcoming media industry. The university offers various advanced facilities such as sports stadium, library, the art gallery and students activity center.
The university has 105 laboratories in relevance of different majors and 67 off-campus internship platforms. Jinzhou Medical University was founded in 1946. The present enrollment of full-time students is over 12000. It began to recruit international student in 1997. It is a college qualified for teaching international students in clinical medicine solely in English. There are 95 teaching practice bases in the university, including 3 affiliated hospitals. The first affiliated hospital is the largest first-class Grade III comprehensive hospital and regional medical center in western Liaoning Province. The second affiliated hospital is the center for diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases and the third one, another first – class Grade III hospital is a sub-center for prevention and treatment of diabetes and diabetes-related eye diseases.

In 1991, the university took the lead in the innovation of medical classes, carrying out “organ-system-centered” medical curriculum model in China, which won two Second Class Prize of the National Prizes of Teaching Achievement and two First Class Prize of the Provincial Prizes of Teaching Achievement.

Founded in 1951, Liaoning University of Technology (LUT) is a provincial university of higher learning. It is a multifaceted university with engineering as its specialty, as well as offering instruction in science, liberal arts, economics, and management studies. Presently it serves over 18,000 undergraduates and 578 postgraduates.

LUT has 21 colleges and faculties. Forty-seven undergraduate specialties and forty-four post-graduate specialties are offered, which includes 7 first level master degrees and 37 second class master degrees covering 9 fields of authorized Engineering master degree, 13 higher vocational college specialties. The School of International Education at LUT is in charge of international cooperation, recruitment and management of international students. LUT has carried out international exchange and cooperation since 1985. In recent years, the university has established numerous exchange programs with more than 20 foreign universities. LUT sends students to the USA, Germany, UK, Korea, Singapore, Japan and Australia. International students can get graduation certificates and bachelor’s degrees, as well as master’s degrees. So far, we have had students from the US, Korea, Japan, Slovenia, and Pakistan. Our Chinese Training Centre offers free Chinese lessons for all degree students. History and Facts

Nanjing Tech University, a comprehensive university with engineering as its focus, has a history of more than one hundred years as a cradle of education. It is a key institution of higher learning to be constructed in Jiangsu Province, and one of the first group of institutions of higher learning approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education for the training of “Excellent Engineers”. Nanjing Tech University was established by merging the former Nanjing University of Chemical Technology and the former Nanjing Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering in May 2001.  The origin of Nanjing University of Chemical Technology can be traced back to Sanjiang Normal School established in 1902, and Nanjing Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering was formerly the Department of Mechanics of Tongji Medical and Engineering School established in 1915.

Today, Nanjing Tech University consists of two campuses, one in Mofan Road, and the other one in Jiangpu, covering a total area of 4000 mu (or 267 hectares). Henan University of Technology (HAUT), located in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, serves as one of the leading provincial universities. History
From 1956 to the end of the 20th century, the university has been affiliated to Ministries of Central Government. The year of 1959 has found the undergraduate education carried out in the university followed by the beginning of graduate programs in 1981. The administration of HAUT has been transferred to Henan Province ever since the year of 1998. In 2010, Henan Provincial Government and State Grain Bureau have signed the agreement to co-sponsor the university.
After more than five decades’ construction, HAUT has developed itself into a comprehensive university with a special priority in engineering science. Now we have five levels of talents-training system ranging from full-time study, continuing education, bachelor and master programs to doctor cultivation. HAUT is among the first group of universities to be included in 2011 Project of Collaborative Innovation, The Midwest University Foundation Ability Construction Project and Outstanding Engineers Training Project. Here you can also find Food Science and Engineering Center for Post-doctoral Studies and National Engineering Laboratory for Grain Further Processing and Food Storage. Run by the People’s Government of Henan Province, Zhengzhou University (ZZU) ，located at No.100, Kexuedadao Road, Zhengzhou City, Henan，boasts of a total area of about 939 acres and four campuses: Main Campus (No.100, Kexuedadao Road, Zhengzhou City), South Campus (No.75, Daxuebeilu Road, Zhengzhou City), North Campus (No. 97, Wenhua Road, Zhengzhou City), and East Campus (No. 40, Daxuebeilu Road, Zhengzhou City). Medical education of ZZU could date back to the establishment of National No.5 Sun Yat-sen University in 1928, whose medicine discipline became an independent institution, and was renamed “Henan Medical College” in 1952, hence breaking a new ground for Henan modern medical education. The former ZZU, the first comprehensive university established by new China in 1956, was approved to enter National “211 Project” list in 1996. Zhengzhou University of Technology (ZUT), a national key university founded in 1963, was under the direct leadership of the former Ministry of Chemical Industry. A new ZZU was born in July 2000 when the former ZZU, ZUT and Henan Medical University (HMU) merged into one. A large number of distinguished scholars and experts have come to teach or work at this university, such as Prof. Ji Wenfu, an educator, historian and philosopher, Prof. Huo Bingquan, a physicist, Prof. Hou Debang, a chemist, Academician Zhong Xiangchong from Chinese Academy of Sciences, an expert in refractory, Prof. Sun Guoliang, an expert in civil engineering, Prof. Dong Minsheng, an expert in otolaryngology, Prof. Shen Qiong, the founder of the esophageal cytology, and Prof. Su Shouzhi, an expert in the human parasitology.

Henan University, founded in 1912, is located in Kaifeng, a famous historic city which used to be the capital of China during eight different dynasties. In 2008, Henan University formally entered the list of the universities which are jointly developed by the provincial government and the ministry; in 2016, the University was selected in the “111 Plan”; and in 2017, the University becomes a “Double First-rate” university.

Henan University was formerly known as the Preparatory School for Further Study in Europe and America. It was later renamed Zhongzhou University, No.5 National Zhongshan University and Provincial Henan University. In 1942 its name was changed to National Henan University. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,  its name has been changed many times. Finally the name Henan University was restored in 1984.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), as one of the higher education institutions which enjoy a long history and a world-renowned reputation in China, is a key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the People’s Republic of China and co-constructed by MOE and Shanghai Municipal Government. Through 121 years’ unremitting efforts, SJTU has become a comprehensive, research-oriented, and internationalized top university in China.

Today SJTU has 64 undergraduate programs covering 9 major disciplines: economics, law, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and arts. Since 2000, there are 47 national higher education teaching achievement prizes （31 completed independently）. With 6 National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers, 3 national demonstration centers of virtual simulation experiment teaching and 10 Shanghai Municipal Experiment Teaching Demonstration Centers, SJTU has 8 national-level teaching groups, 15 Shanghai Municipal teaching groups, 8 nationally renowned teachers and 36 Shanghai locally renowned teachers and owns 46 national-level quality courses, 13 national-level video-recorded open courses, 23 national-level quality resource-sharing courses, 162 Shanghai Municipal quality courses, 7 bilingual-teaching demonstration courses and14 Shanghai higher education all-English demonstration courses. SJTU won the 1^st national “double demonstration base” and established student innovative center.

SJTU enjoys an increasingly high scientific research level and technology innovation level. Up to 2016, SJTU led the country for the 7th consecutive year in terms of both the project number and the amount of money issued by National Natural Science Foundation of China. The number of SCI included papers in terms of the Article, and Review hit a historical high with the total number of 6,027. Among them, international outstanding paper reaches 2,497. The total number of domestic SCI-cited papers reaches 26,749, ranking the first in China. 2,414 papers were regarded as “doing-a-good-job” papers, ranking the third in China. In 10 years, SCI-cited papers have reached 39,913 and 366,612 times, continue to maintain the second in China. 705 International Conference Papers, ranking second in China. 1 was elected as “2015 Chinese most influential 100 international academic papers”.

With profound cultural background, an age-old tradition on education, strenuous development history, and great achievements made since the reform and opening up, SJTU has attracted wide attention both inside and outside China. Beijing Jiaotong University is a national key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education and now is jointly supported by the Ministry of Education, the China Railway Corporation and Beijing Municipal Government. BJTU is one of the first universities selected into the “National 211 Project” and the “985 Innovative Platforms for Key Disciplines Project”, one of the first institutions authorised to confer Master’s and Doctoral degrees. BJTU, as the leading organisation, has established the Collaborative Innovation Centre for Rail Transit Safety, which is one of the first 14 collaborative centres selected by the Chinese government into the “National 2011 Projects”. In 2017, BJTU was selected into the ‘Double First-Class’ National Initiative. BJTU will surround the advantaged disciplines and focus on building ‘Smart Transportation’ as a world-class discipline.

As one of the three origins of the Jiaotong University, the history of BJTU can be dated back to 1896. BJTU grew out of Beijing Railway Management Institute, China’s first higher educational institution which was committed to fostering railway management talents and initiated modern China’s education in railway management and telecommunication. In 1917, it was reorganized into Beijing Railway Management School and Beijing Post and Telecommunication School. In 1921, it merged with the Shanghai Industrial College, Tangshan Industrial College to form Jiaotong University. After the reorganization of Jiaotong University in 1923, the Beijing campus was renamed Beijing Jiaotong University. In 1950, the school was named Northern Jiaotong University, and the president was the famous bridge expert Mao Yisheng. In 1952, the Northern Jiaotong University was revoked, therefore, the Beijing and Tang campus became independent and the school was renamed Beijing Railway Institute. In 1970, the name Northern Jiaotong University was resumed. In 2000, it had merged with the Beijing Electric Power College and the administration was transferred from the Ministry of Railways to the Ministry of Education. In 2003, the name Beijing Jiaotong University was resumed. Some renowned people in Chinese history received education at the University, including LIU Han, the founder of China’s first radio station, YING Shangcai, the inventor of China’s first high-power steam engine, JIN Shixuan, the author of China’s first railway management monograph, XU Jing, a pioneer of railway transport economics in China, YANG Rumei, one of the earliest four major accountants in China, and ZHENG Zhenduo, a famous writer and literary critic and historian. Some famous scholars worked at the University, including Hsiang Che-chun, a Prosecutor of the Tokyo Trial and MA Yinchu, a famous demographer and economist in China.

The university regards strengthening cooperation and exchanges as an important way to upgrade the level of running school and enhance its influences at home and abroad. BJTU has established cooperative relations with 235 universities and famous multi-national enterprises from 45 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and France in order to cultivate first-class talents with global vision. The university has established Confucius Institutes at Group T of KU Leuven in Belgium, Texas Southern University in the United States and University of Campinas in Brazil. In 2017, BJTU officially joined the OSJD to enhance the influence and voice in the field of international railway; joined the Association of Chinese and Central and Eastern European Universities to lay foundations for the educational exchange and cooperation between BJTU and Central and Eastern countries; hosted the Belt and Road Rail Transit Education and Training School-Enterprise Cooperation Dialogue: Annual Meeting of the China-ASEAN Rail Transit Education and Training Association; and signed cooperation agreements with Russian University of Transport and Bandung Institute of Technology to jointly establish the Jeme Tien Yow Institute and China-Indonesia High-speed Railway Research Centre, respectively. The International Culture Festival is held every two years to promote international academic and cultural exchanges. BJTU boasts 1 “National Demonstration College”, 5 “Overseas Expertise Introduction Centre for Discipline Innovation” (111 Centre), 1 Nurturing Project of 111 Centre, 1 “Belt and Road” Expertise Introduction Project for Education, Science, Culture and Health, 17 experts selected into the “High-end Foreign Experts Project”, 4 experts selected into the “National One-Thousand Talent Plan (International)” (3 for long-term and 1 for short-term), 6 Chinese-foreign Cooperative Education projects, 2 cross-border educational institutes to carry out degree education at both undergraduate and graduate levels and improve the school-running level in internationalisation. BJTU makes full use of the roles of the Alumni, Foundation and Board of Directors and deepens collaborative innovation among the government, the industry, the academia, research institutes and users. So far, BJTU has established 49 local alumni associations at home and abroad, absorbed 83 board members and established strategic cooperative relationship with enterprises of transportation, logistics, information, energy and other industries as well as local governments, which has realized long-term and extensive cooperation in personnel training and scientific research.
